Participation campaign by the City Museum
As part of the “Places of Diversity” project, the City Museum is looking for pictures of places in Oldenburg that embody, protect, or promote diversity for its new permanent exhibition. Read the instructions below and become part of the new City Museum.
Oldenburg is… open.
Oldenburg is more diverse than the typical cityscape might suggest at first glance. Away from the classic sights, there are places where different realities of life, cultures and perspectives become visible. Places where people meet, network and get involved. These places tell stories of diversity, solidarity and openness.
These are not only well-known institutions, but also small shops, initiatives and free spaces. A shop that sells Fairtrade products from all over the world, a cultural centre for political activism, a self-organised space for exchange, art or community – or a place that takes a clear stand against discrimination of any kind. The media station in the permanent exhibition on the history of the city, entitled ‘Places of Diversity’, is not a finished city map, but a joint project that is growing. Places of diversity arise where people get involved, meet and provide space for creative ideas. These places invite people to help shape the city and society.
